MIUI 14 Surprise: Xiaomi Commits to Redmi Note 9 Update Beyond Software Support End

MIUI 14 Update Confirmed for Redmi Note 9

At the conclusion of June, Xiaomi formally terminated software support for the Redmi Note 9 by adding it to the EOS page. But now, within a week, the company has announced its intention to roll out a noteworthy update for this particular device.

According to an email from the Xiaomi Support team to a consumer, the company plans to deliver the MIUI 14 update for the Redmi Note 9. This update is anticipated to be released either in Q3 or Q4 of 2023.

If this information holds true, MIUI 14 will mark the third major update for the Redmi Note 9. It is important to note that this smartphone was initially launched with MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

Considering that the Redmi Note 9 has already received two Android upgrades, it is highly likely that the MIUI 14 update will be based on Android 12 rather than Android 13. While having the most up-to-date Android version would have been preferable, given the product’s retail price, this choice is still acceptable.

It is noteworthy that the Redmi Note 9 is known as the Redmi 10X 4G in China. However, it remains uncertain if the device will receive a similar treatment in terms of updates and support.
